Westman Juried Art Show and Travelling Gallery
The Arts West Council is an organization of volunteers interested in the development of the visual arts in the Westman Region. Since 1979, the Westman Juried Art Show has been organized as an annual event by the Arts West Council and is hosted by various arts clubs and councils throughout the Westman Region of Manitoba.
The Juried Art Show showcases the work of emerging and amateur artists residing in the Westman area. Art selections are determined by an adjudication process involving established artists who have attained a professional profile. Awards include: Travelling Gallery selection, Honorable Mentions, People's Choice and Youth Awards. Jurors select 20 works from the Juried Show to form a Travelling Gallery which tours over 20 communities in the Westman Region via the Public Library System over the following year. The project is sponsored by the Manitoba Arts Council and Manitoba Culture, Heritage and Tourism.
The purpose of the Juried Art Show is to afford emerging and amateur artists a venue for professional critique of their work ~ contributing artists receive an individual critique from each juror ~ and to provide an opportunity to present their work to a public audience.

"Artists First" Pan Canadian Exhibition
2008
2008
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, The Canadian Association for Community Living (CACL), in collaboration with the Association pour l’intégration sociale d’Ottawa (AISO) and the Ottawa School of Art hosted a Pan Canadian Art exhibition during the 50th Anniversary Conference of the CACL in 2008. Artists living with an intellectual disability were invited to showcase their art work in a professional artistic setting for the local Ottawa community. This exhibition gave these artists the opportunity to share their accomplishments with a broader national and international audience.
